Divide your yearly salary by the total hours you work in a year. For a full-time schedule, divide by 2,080. A $52,000 salary equals $25 an hour, and a $62,400 salary equals $30 an hour.

Why your take-home pay is lower

This calculator shows gross pay, which is your pay before taxes and deductions. Federal tax, Social Security, Medicare and any state income tax reduce your take-home pay. Nine states do not tax wages. See our list of states with no income tax.

Part-time, unpaid time off and overtime

If you work fewer hours, enter your real weekly hours. If you take unpaid time off, lower the weeks per year. This calculator does not add overtime pay, bonuses or tips.
